While guests at the Ashram, we will have two social responsibilities for which we need to prepare. First, each of us will be called on to say grace (or a grace-substitute) prior to evening meals. Before leaving for India, you should prepare a short prayer, statement, poem, or reading suitable for the occasion.
Second, we will be expected to give a 3-5 minute performance each day for Morning Assembly, a brief, daily meeting led by Father Paul with the faculty and students. You can do a short musical or dance number, a reading, a skit, or anything else creative. (A cooking show, anyone? J) We need 15 performances, so although you can work in groups, please don’t everyone work in groups, because we’ll be short on presentations.
You need to email me to let me know what you’ll be presenting for Morning Assembly. My email is eringel@umich.edu. (Please don’t email Steven; he has enough to do.) I’m going to assume everyone is responsible enough to prepare a pre-evening meal reading.
